Japan Travel Guides

Right, Japan. Where vending machines outnumber people, the trains run on time to the second, and our kids learned that slurping noodles isn't just acceptable--it's basically mandatory.

We'll be honest: we were terrified before our first Japan trip. Language barrier? Massive. Cultural differences? Everywhere. Would our kids survive on raw fish and rice? Surprisingly, yes. Would we survive navigating Tokyo's subway system with two jet-lagged children? Barely.

But here's the thing--Japan is ridiculously family-friendly once you crack the code. The toilets are cleaner than our kitchen back home, there are play areas in the most unexpected places, and the Japanese genuinely seem to like children (novel concept, we know). Sophie still talks about the random grandmother who gave Isla origami lessons on the bullet train.

These guides are everything we wish we'd known before booking those flights. The practical stuff, the cultural stuff, and yes, where to find chips when your 9-year-old declares a sushi strike on day three.
