Portugal Travel Guides

Portugal surprised us. We went expecting decent beaches and cheap wine (tick and tick), but found a country that's ridiculously good for families. The Portuguese absolutely adore kids - Leo and Isla were fed pasteis de nata by approximately 47 different grandmothers in Lisbon alone. The surf culture along the Algarve and Costa Vicentina is world-class yet beginner-friendly, the food is spectacular and affordable, and unlike most of Europe, you can actually find a beach in August that isn't shoulder-to-shoulder Germans. We've explored everything from beginner surf camps where even Sophie caught a wave (still dining out on that story) to tiny fishing villages where the kids learned to say "obrigado" with adorable British accents. Portugal delivers proper family adventures without the eye-watering price tags of France or Italy. Here's everything we've learned from our Portuguese escapes.
